Sherlock Holmes 3 is still Happening, According to Robert Downey Jr.
Five years have passed since Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows arrived, and the two-film franchise hasn't exactly been missed. Afterall, Sherlock cravings have been satiated by Benedict Cumberbatch, not to mention the recent retired-Sherlock film titled Holmes.
Given Robert Downey Jr.'s star power, Warner Bros. would surely want to see more Sherlock Holmes, and Downey Jr. confirms that progress is being made.
“We’re talking about it right now. We can do some preliminary stuff,” RDJ told Shortlist, suggesting it could start shooting this year.
“If we could shoot it on Skype, we could have the whole [movie] done in a week,” the actor quipped. “When we’re making those 'Sherlock' movies it is off the hook. [So] we’ll attempt to make one this year. It really is a big deal to go and do those movies. I’m tired all the time, but I’m so excited about it."
Given the actor's full schedule, whether or not 2016 is a go for the sequel remains to be seen.
