Showtime Renews Homeland, The Affair
Showtime announced on Wednesday that both Homeland and The Affair will remain on the air for 2016 with new season orders.
Homeland will return with its sixth season after lately having gone through a resurgence, while The Affair gets a third season.
Three-day ratings for Homeland have shown average viewings of 2.7 million, and 1.05 million among adults 18-49. The Affair averages 1.5 overall. The news, therefore, comes as little surprise, and less a cause for relief for fans of either show than an expectation.
With Homeland's focus having moved to Berlin, season 5 has seen Homeland gardner three SAG Award nominations, tied with Game of Thrones, including nominations for best drama series and lead in Claire Danes.
