Snowpiercer TV Series in the Works
A television series based off of the 2013 film has been optioned by Tomorrow Studios, and Avatar 2 and 3 screenwriter Josh Friedman has signed on to pen the script.
The film is a sci-fi drama that pits the rich against the poor set on a large train that travels around the globe. Similar to The Hunger Games in concept, but on a train.
Chris Evans and Tilda Swinton starred in the Bong Joon-ho-directed film, and it received plenty of praise from critics and fans.
Friedman is not ignorant to expectation. "I'm a big fan of director Bong's films, especially Snowpiercer. It's great the way the best sci-fi is great - thoughtful, political, funny, scary, sly. And it's on a train. A big f-ing traing. What more could you want?"
Based off a graphic novel initially, the TV adaptation will be based solely on the film, and Bong is attached as an executive producer for the project.
