'Sons of Anarchy' Creator says spin-off is "one step closer"
A spin-off from Kurt Sutter's popular biker drama series Sons of Anarchy has been in the pipeline for some time now, with rumours and speculation abound. Now, the Mayan Motorcycle Club-centric story is closer to becoming a reality, according to the creator.
Mayans MC spinoff just got one step closer. I'm very excited about this story. Dark and beautiful. #MayansMC— kurt sutter (@sutterink) April 26, 2016
The Mayans were the main antagonists during the first two seasons of the parent series, and the group was led by Marcus Alverez (Emilio Rivera). The group started a turf war with the Sons of Anarchy for the San Joaquin Valley. Eventually, the two groups settled on an uneasy alliance, but we'll leave the details for those who haven't seen to witness it for themselves.
Not much is known about the series, though THR reports that the series will not take place in Northern California, and casting is far from being underway.
