Spider-Man May Not Feature in 'Avengers: Infinity War'
Despite debuting in Captain America; Civil War and arriving in his own solo film in 2017, it seems that Spider-Man's involvement in Avengers: Infinity War is far from a sure thing.
“My next project, I can’t tell you about, but we’ve just finished ‘Spider-Man’ and we’re talking about the second one and who the villain is going to be and where we’re going,” young star Tom Holland told WWD. Fans will be glad to hear that talk about a sequel is already underway.
“It’s all up in the air. I believe some sort of deal is in the mix, but I’m unclear as to what that deal is,” Holland told Variety. It looks like the deal is being fine-tuned or renegotiated regarding Spider-Man's involvement in the MCU.
If Sony are re-shuffling their stance when it comes to the sharing of the character, it could prove costly given the frequency of Spider-Man's big screen do-overs. This time it was different for an obvious reason, and Sony might not want to distance the character from the MCU anytime soon.
