Spotlight Takes Top Honour at SAG Awards
The Screen Actors Guild Awards are often seen as the final major predictor of where The Academy's favour might fall at the Oscars, considering that SAG members make up the largest voting number in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
So considering that, the team at Spotlight might want to get used to the taste of champagne, after the film received the Best Picture equivalent at the SAG Awards, taking home Best Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.
As expected, DiCaprio took home Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor, who is now the frontrunner and favourite to take home that Oscar come Feb 28. Brie Larson took home Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor for her role in Room.
Alicia Vikander, after a stellar 2015, continued her blitz of the awards season with a win for her supporting role in The Danish Girl.
