'Star Wars: Episode IX' Rumoured for Early 2017 Production
With Rogue One still fresh on everyone's mind, and with Episode VIII still to come later next year, rumours have emerged regarding the next film in the franchise, being the concluding chapter in the sequel trilogy.
A site called My Entertainment World is reporting that principal photography will kick off in April 2017 in London. Project Casting reported the same news earlier in the month. Both sites are looking to a May 23, 2019 release as a likely candidate for the film.
With Han Solo kicking off production in February, LucasFilm will certainly be running a tight ship. With Star Wars Celebration in the Spring and press slowly starting to begin on Episode VIII, it may mean the studio would be biting off more than it could chew.
