Star Wars: Episode VIII Delayed to December 2017
The next episode in the Star Wars saga has been pushed back to December 15, 2017, after an initial planned release date of May 26 next year.
The nearly seven month delay follows on the incredible performance of The Force Awakens, and no word has been made on why the film has been pushed to the same release period as its predecessor.
The slot has been filled immediately by the next Pirates of the Caribbean sequel, Dead Men Tell No Tales, which was previously slated for a July 7, 2017 release.
Star Wars Episode VIII is currently in pre-production and will begin principal photography in London next month.
