'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Dominates Home Video Charts
With the biggest domestic box office of all time, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still number one as fans flock to own the film for their viewing pleasure. Now, we get to take it home, and people have taken advantage of that.
The film debuted at number 1 on both national home video sales charts and Home Media Magazine's rental chart for the week ending April 10. It outsold all 19 other Blu-ray disc and DVD releases in the Top 20 on the NPD Videoscan overall disc sales chart by a margin of 5 to 1.
The Hateful Eight ranked in at second. Tarantino's western ranked number 1 in its debut week prior, but sold fewer than 4% as many copies as The Force Awakens.
