Star Wars: The Force Awakens is MTV's Movie of the Year
The Force Awakens earns itself a Best Picture award this year, albeit voted by the viewers as part of the MTV Movie Awards. The event was taped in Burbank on the WB lot, set for an edited airing tomorrow night at 8PM.
Star Wars beat out Avengers: Age of Ultron, Creed, Deadpool, Straight Outta Compton, and Jurassic World to take home the prize, but didn't stop there. It also nabbed breakthrough performance victory for Daisy Ridley and Best Villain for Adam Driver as Kylo Ren.
Deadpool took away Best Comedic Performance and Best Fight, while Straight Outta Compton was deemed Best True Story and Charlize Theron named Best Female Performer for Mad Max: Fury Road.
