Starz Sets Season 3 Premiere of 'Outlander' for September
Starz has, in association with Sony Pictures Television, confirmed season 3 of Outland for September 2017. The Golden Globe-nominated series will include 13 episodes in the third year, based on the third book in the eight-book series, titled Voyager.
Production and filming will move to Scotland in March, then to Cape Town, South Africa, where pivotal sea voyage scenes take place. These are the same sets of another Starz original series, Black Sails. Production began back in September 2016 and will wrap in June.
Carmi Zlotnik, President of Programming for Starz said, “While ‘Droughtlander’ will last just a little longer, we feel it is important to allow the production the time and number of episodes needed to tell the story of the ‘Voyager’ book in its entirety. The scale of this book is immense, and we owe the fans the very best show. Returning in September will make that possible.”
