Steve Buscemi Signs on to Star in 'Lean on Pete'
According to Deadline, Steve Buscemi is set to star in Andrew Haigh's Lean on Pete, playing the character of Del in Haigh's long-running passion project.
He will write and direct the tale of lost Americana. It is an adaptation of Willy Vlautin's acclaimed novel, which follows 15-year old teenager Charley on a journey in search of his long lost aunt and a place to call home. His only companion is a horse that goes by the film's name.
Last year, Haigh's helmed 45 Years, which starred Charlotte Rampling in an Oscar-nominated role andwhichwas well received by critics. The film was deemed best British/Irish film of the year.
