Steven Spielberg already has his next Project lined up following 'Ready Player One'
Steven Spielberg has set his eyes on his long-in-limbo religious period drama 'The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara,' which will become his focus once he finishes up on Ready Player One.
Bridge of Spies star Mark Rylance will join him again in the project from Amblin Enterainment. A script has been written by Tony Kushner, adapted from the David Kertzer novel. The project has been in development with Spielberg since 2008.
The true story follows a 6 year-old Jewish boy who was seized by police and taken from his parents in 1858. He was raised as a Catholic and became a priest in the Augustinian order.
Sources say that the director is eyeing an early 2017 shoot with an awards season release.
