'Straight Outta Compton' Third Weekend On Top
'Straight Outta Compton' has earned a streak of three weekends in a row wearing the crown, though with little to challenge its spot.
'Compton' dropped 50% from last weekend (which is the norm) to add $13 million to its $134 million total. The religious drama 'War Room' was the only semi-competitor, though with a limited release its sales only added up to $11 million.
'No Escape' starring Owen Wilson had an average debut, opening at $8 million. Meanwhile, Universal continues to wring dry the summer revenue by showing 'Jurassic World' in almost double the number of cinemas.
'We Are Your Friends' starring Zac Efron bombed, struggling to $1.8 million and in contention for worst pre-screen opening of summer 2015.
