'Stranger Things' Season 3 adds Cary Elwes
Cary Elwes will be joining the cast of Stranger Things season three!
As if the town of Hawkins couldn't get anymore fucked up. The Duffer Bros. reached deep in their bag of tricks to reveal the small town nestled somewhere in Indiana has an actual Mayor. And from all accounts, this guy sounds like a real piece of shit!
Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos made the new casting announcement at Netflix’s See What’s Next event, describing Elwes’ character "Mayor Kline" as “Your classic ’80s politician – more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.”
Just when you thought they nailed "classic" '80s Dad (cc - Ted 'Numbnuts' Wheeler), they go and get Cary Elwes, who is great in everything including SAW and GLORY, to play Hawkins “handsome, slick, and sleazy” Mayor! I mean, Elwes is handsome and slick, and no doubt he can do sleazy.
Sarandos also announced the addition of Gary Busey's son, Jake to play a journalist for the The Hawkins Post with “questionable morals and a sick sense of humor.”
No wonder the '80s gets such a bad wrap?
Netflix has yet to announce a release date for the third season but we're guessing all eight episodes will drop sometime in the fall of 2019.
