'Suicide Squad' Guides Warner Bros. to $1 Billion Milestone for the 16th Year Running
Suicide Squad made a significant splash over its opening weekend, which has ensured that Warner Bros. has broken the $1 billion mark for the year.
With its $135.1 million opening, Suicide Squad has helped Warner Bros. to the milestone, which it has maintained for 16 years straight at the domestic box office. 17 of the past 18 years, the studio has racked up $1 billion, making it an industry leader in the only business that counts - that being the one with the dollar sign at the front.
Suicide Squad broke August opening records with its first weekend tally, and becomes one of just seven films to open with over $100 million. Worldwide, the film is at $267.1 million, second only to Batman v Superman for Warner Bros.
