'Suicide Squad' Poorly Received, Director Responds to Negative Reviews
Suicide Squad is due out this week, and so far, not so good. It sits at 36% as of right now on Rotten Tomatoes, and with words like "sloppy" and "muddled" being used to describe a "semi-entertaining" blockbuster.
David Ayer took to Twitter recently to post a famous Spanish quote: "Prefiero morir de pie que vivir de rodillas," which translates to "I’d prefer to die on my feet than to live on my knees.”
He followed it up with, "Zapata quote is my way of saying I love the movie and believe in it. Made it for the fans. Best experience of my life." It's public release is when we'll get a sense of where this film is headed, in terms of commercial success.
It's a shame that early response is poor, particularly given how desperate Warner Bros. is for a change in the tide following the debacle that was Batman v Superman.
