'Suicide Squad' Spin-Off Potential is Endless, According to the Director
Warner Bros. is relying on a big performance from Suicide Squad following Batman v Superman, though it seems so far they have reason to be confident. And, should it be the hit they're expecting, spin-offs are far from out of the picture.
"I think that because of the nature of the comic book universe and the DC universe, it's really a fractal. It's really infinite anyways you could go. Especially the DC universe, I think, is one of the most complex fiction universes," director David Ayer explained.
"What with the crisis, and pre-crisis and the multi-dimensional nature and all the time-lines and everything like that. Each one of these characters could be their own film. Suicide Squad could be a zillion films."
With a Harley Quinn spin-off in the works, it remains to be seen just who else could claim their own path to solo success. Deadshot is a pretty good guess at this point, should the film do well, not to mention Katana and Captain Boomerang.
The film opens August 5.
