'Suicide Squad' Will be Showing in IMAX, it Just Won't Feature Any IMAX Footage
Batman v Superman is being teased as a must-see IMAX viewing experience, but the same can't be said for Suicide Squad, despite the fact that it will be showing in IMAX 3D come August.
Via Twitter, IMAX's official account was asked regarding Suicide Squad's use of IMAX cameras, to which it responded with "@Fro_von_Frolik No, Suicide Squad was not filmed on our cameras."
Whether or not this is a missed opportunity remains to be seen. Perhaps Suicide Squad scales down on the big action set pieces in comparison to Batman v Superman. Or perhaps David Ayer simply passed on the opportunity. Whatever the case, the film will be shown on the big, and bigger IMAX screen, anyway, arriving August 5.
