'Supergirl' Officially finds a home for Season 2 at The CW
Supergirl is officially headed to The CW for its second season.
The CW sees its overflowing line-up, not least of all filled to the brim with superhero offerings, bolstered with the Man of Steel's cousin next fall. Supergirl joins Arrow, iZombie, Legends of Tomorrow, and an already familiar Flash, tying herself into the CW's DC universe.
Recent reports suggested that the network had been in conflict with Warner Bros. over licensing fees, as the cost of the show seemed to overwhelm modest but not overwhelming ratings. The show lost roughly half of its viewership over the course of season 1, despite having the biggest debut of the 2015-16 season.
No word on a time slot, or even a filming location, have come to the fore, though rumours have indicated the show may shift production to Vancouver, where tax incentives will reduce the cost of production.
Nevertheless, all business aside, fans should be ecstatic that this now opens the door to plenty more crossover opportunity, inviting Supergirl officially into the superhero fold (and making heroes like Arrow seem less and less necessary in a real world setting).
