'Taken' to Receive Television Prequel
Along with 'Minority Report', 'Limitless', and 'Ash vs Evil Dead' to name a few, 'Taken' is the latest movie property to earn itself a TV adaptation.
Designed as a prequel to the action trilogy, NBC has confirmed a straight-to-series order and though Luc Besson is heading proceedings (writer of the original trilogy), there is no inclination that Liam Neeson is involved at this point.
The series will essentially be an origin tale (we don't have enough of those), showing us how the chahracter Bryan Mills acquired his skills.
The search is on for a showrunner and writer, and Besson will act as executive producer.
