'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' 3D Re-Release Not Releaseing in China This Year
Chinese audiences will have to wait a little longer to see the 3D remastering of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, as the film has been pushed out of its crowded late-2016 release. It's now looking likely at a release in the first quarter of 2017.
The 3D conversion saw collaboration between DMG Entertainment, Studiocanal, and James Cameron, with an eye to the Chinese market specifically. The film never released theatrically in the Middle Kingdom, and Cameron is quite a draw for the filmgoers in China.
Confirmations have yet to be made for American films releasing in the first quarter in China, so there's no sign as to when DMG will secure for the re-release. The film, however, has a better chance without going up against the likes of Fantastic Beasts at the pointy end of 2016.
