Terminator 2 to get 3D Theatrical Re-Release in Time for 25th Anniversary
Back in 2014, James Cameron suggested that Terminator 2 may get a 3D conversion, similar to the re-release of Titanic a few years ago. Now, it's confirmed that a 3D version of the classic action sequel will be coming to theaters in 2016.
James Cameron is teaming up with DMG Entertainment and Studiocanal to digitally remaster Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The two companies will work alongside Cameron to supervise and produce the conversion.
China is targeted for a global premiere, meaning that it is unclear when the re-release will arrive in the U.S. After the disappointment that was Terminator Genysis, fans of the franchise can rejoice that a classic is returning to theaters.
