The 72nd Venice Film Festival So Far
Nearing the halfway point of this years Venice Film Festival, there's been a lot of talk about a lot of films, boasting familiar names and award season contenders.
'The Danish Girl' starring Eddy Redmayne received a 10 minute standing ovation and the actor singled out as a promising Oscar contender.
Johnny Depp too seems to have come out of a rut, also being looked at as a name to be weary of come award season. Other high-profile actors have glamoured up the festival, with Jake Gyllenhaal (whose been extraordinarily busy of late) in 'Everest', as well as Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult's 'Equals'.
'Spotlight'' has received warm responses from critics. The film stars Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel Adams, and has so far been claimed as director Tom McCarthy's best work.
While the festival is a business opportunity for all involved, it's exciting to see so much potential coming out. 'Black Mass' is another that has been touted as a winner.
