'The Big Bang Theory' Prequel Following the Early Days of Sheldon in Development
The creators of The Big Bang Theory are working on a prequel revolving around fan-favourite character Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons.
Creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady as well as executive producer Steve Molaro are working on the project, though it has not been confirmed by CBS or Warner Bros. It is described as "Malcolm in the Middle but with a young and potentially teenage version of Sheldon," THR reports.
It is reportedly being developed as a single-camera series with no laugh track, unlike it's parent series. None of the cast from The Big Bang Theory are expected to be involved. The series itself is in the final year of a three-season deal. Negotiations are underway for contracts that would see the series live past eleven seasons.
