The Cast of 'Riverdale' on Bringing Archie to The CW
Plenty was revealed at Comic-Con out of The CW, and with The CW's attempt at bringing to life the world of Archie, there's a lot of excitement about the drama, which is set to take a dark, mystery-infused look at the small town.
Cast members KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Cole Sprouse, Madelaine Petsch, Ashleigh Murray, Luke Perry, and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa were all in action to voice their excitement about this new version of Riverdale. Aguirre-Sacassa said that the project had been set up at Fox before shifting to the CW for a number of years, and so it isn't inspired by the recent modernisation of the Archie world.
Going from what's been said so far, it seems that very little is being taken from the source material, though that could change as season 1 wears on.
Petsch and Murray, who play Cheryl Blossom and Josie, are eager to bring their characters to the table, with Petsch drawn to the dark nature of Cheryl's character and is eager to begin showing her vulnerabilities as the season progresses.
