'The Conjuring' Spinoff 'The Nun' Finds its Director
The Conjuring, both the first and second films, are two of my favourite horror movies to date. And in its wake came news that there would be a spinoff from The Conjuring 2 focusing on The Nun, similarly to how Annabelle spun out from the first.
Corin Hardy is set to direct The Nun, though very little else is known fo the project so far. James Wan has co-written the script with Gary Dauberman, who also scripted both Annabelle films. Hardy's experience behind the camera is mostly limited to short films and music videos, though he debuted his first feature back in 2015 with the horror film The Hallow. He was hovering around The Crow remake for some time, before he departed last year.
The character of the nun itself was truly terrifying in the film, though I can't help but have personally hoped for a spinoff on the Crooked Man, if any of them were to get the pick. That one truly stuck in my mind after the film had come to an end. In any case, there's plenty of promise, if a little bit of hesitance, toward the latest Conjuring spinoff. There's only be one so far, but that one didn't exactly get a lot of love.
