'The Croods' Sequel Scrapped from DreamWorks Animation Slate
DreamWorks Animation and Universal Pictures are no longer moving ahead with a sequel to 2013's Croods, which was expected to arrive in theaters in 2018.
Variety reports that Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley met with DreamWorks Animation on Thursday to confirm the halt on production immediately. Roughly 30 employees will now have to seek work either elsewhere or on other projects at DreamWorks.
The original film earned $587.2 million worldwide in 2013, on a budget of $135 million.
