The CW Picks Up Greg Berlanti Archie Project, 'Riverdale'
Producer Greg Berlanti continues his successful relationship with The CW, landing Riverdale a pilot pickup to go with The Flash, Arrow and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
Based on characters from Archie Comics, although set in the present, the project explores the surrealism of small town life, set to be a surprising take on the characters Archie, Betty, Veronica and the rest.
Riverdale was written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is executive producing alongside Berlanti, who are both in turn joined by Sarah Schechter and Archie Comics founder Jon Goldwater. Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions will produce.
