The Dark Tower Casts Tom Taylor as Jake Chambers
Director Nikolaj Arcel's upcoming The Dark Tower adaptation of Stephen King's revered novel series has found its latest actor. Tom Taylor will play 12-year old boy Jake Chambers, who is thrust into the world of the Gunslinger and will form a strong bond with the headline character, played by Idris Elba.
Variety broke the news, which comes as a result of a worldwide search. The character is the victim of cruelty both physical and emotional, but offers a sense of hope and humanity to the man that finds him.
Taylor is a relatively unknown actor, with a few minor roles in a handful of TV shows. The actor joins Elba, Matthew McConaughey, and Mad Max star Abbey Lee. The film is starting to take shape as it heads toward production. The film is set to release Feb 17 next year.
