'The Flash' Film Reportedly Casting a Host of Comic Book Roles
With sporadic casting news coming out of Warner Bros. doors, including reports of Green Lantern Corps members, The Flash is getting some focus next, with the search underway for cast to surround star Ezra Miller, who appears as the title character.
The news comes from HH's Umberto Gonzalez, who has a solid track record, but we should temper expectations. The reports claim, however, that Warner Bros. is looking to fill the roles of five comic book characters:Barry Allen's love interest, Iris West, Eobard Thawne (Reverse Flash), detective Fred Chyre, Barry's closest friend, Len Snart (Captain Cold), and Jay Garrick, reportedly in a cameo role.
All of these characters have appeared in The CW's series, so fans of that will be familiar. Director Zack Snyder has said that The Flash film will be darker in order to fit the tone of the DCEU, though his producing partner Deborah Snyder has teased that the character will maintain some humour.
She also suggest that Ray Fisher will appear as Cyborg, who played a cameo alongside Ezra Miller in Batman v Superman. The Flash is scheduled for May 16, 2018.
