The Flash Producer Teases the Future of the Series
If Arrow can be arguably suffering for a wealth of superheroes that makes its titular character less than the remarkable man he probably should be, then The Flash might just be targeting that exact notion with a hint of cheek.
The show features its title character, Barry Allen, as the Flash. Add in the Reverse-Flash, Zoom, Jesse Chambers Wells (destined to be Jesse Quick), Jay Garrick (Flash of Earth-2), Jay's Earth-1 counterpart Hunter Zolomon, and the latest, Wally West.
That is a lot of speedsters. It's main character isn't meant to seem special, at least I hope not, when you throw in so many members that share similar unique abilities. Now, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has answered EW's question on whether we'll see three flashes side-by-side(-by-side).
"I guess that could happen down the road. I wouldn't want to say no, but so much of that stuff is a little bit further into the future than we've planned for right now." He hinted that Wally's journey will be reminiscent of Roy Harper's as Arsenal on Arrow, whereby he'll have a lot of learning to do before he dons a mask.
We're already seeing the Flash and Supergirl team up soon, so for now we can be glad that they're at least not throwing every possibility at its audience at once. Instead, they're taking the series a step at a time, though they are big steps.
