'The Founder' Pushed Back from August to December Release for Awards Contention
The Weinstein Co. have moved The Founder from its August 5 release date right back to near the end of the year, releasing December 16 to make a serious claim for Oscars success. It won't be getting a wide release until January 20.
Test audiences have reportedly loved the film, particularly Michael Keaton, who has starred in the previous two Oscar winning pictures, Birdman and Spotlight.
