'The Good Wife' Spinoff Gets a Premiere Date on CBS
The Good Wife spinoff, titled The Good Fight, will debut its first episode on CBS on Sunday, February 19, before the series will switch exclusively to the network's streaming service, CBS All Access.
It's a business plan that is being used for Star Trek: Discovery as well. The new series takes place a year after the finale to its parent show, and after a financial scam destroys the reputation of young lawyer Maia Rindell, as well as all of the savings of her mentor, Diane Lockhart. Maia and Diane join Lucca Quinn's lawfirm after being forced out of Lockhart & Lee.
The series stars Rose Leslie, Christine Baranski, and Cush Jump, as well as Bernadette Peters, Justin Bartha, Sarah Steele, Delroy Lindo, Paul Guilfoyle and Erica Tazel. Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King are showrunners and executive producers.
