'The LEGO Movie Sequel' to be a Space-Set Musical
The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay has spoken on a podcast, as we sourced for our Nightwing article, but he's also discussed The LEGO Movie Sequel, which so far hasn't given us much to go on by way of plot. Now, we get a glimpse behind the scenes on development for the sequel.
"LEGO 2 is going to be this big musical and space action movie. They need a lot of the writing, a lot of development, not only with script development, but development with songwriters. So it was very ambitious to get that movie out."
The first LEGO movie produced one of the catchiest on-screen songs in memory, "Everything is Awesome." It was nominated for an Oscar for its year, and is still heard even today. Not long ago, Trolls director Mike Mitchell replaced Rob Schrab as director on the film, while Matt Fogler penned the most recent script.
