The MCU Characters Director Scott Derrickson Would Love to Pair Doctor Strange With
Doctor Strange is arriving next month, and Scott Derrickson is set to bring the mythical to the MCU in what is being described as a more serious installment into the franchise. The director took to Reddit for a Q&A and revealed who he'd like to see interact with the character.
“Strange and Rocket [Raccoon] would be an interesting encounter," he said, before adding that Groot would also be interesting and he would love to see the two characters meet up.
“It is a bit darker and more serious than other Marvel movies. I think the connection between my horror films and this film is the balance of the supernatural/fantastical with very realistic, grounded characters," Derrickson told fans.
“Thematically, the loneliness of that character, I always really liked, the idea of a character who had gone through so much trauma and was placed into a position between our world and other worlds, other dimensions,” he said.
