'The Night Of' Star Poorna Jagannathan Joins Netflix's 'Gypsy'
Poorna Jagannathan is set to follow up her work on HBO's miniseries The Night Of with a role in Netflix's upcoming drama series, Gypsy.
She'll be joining Naomi Watts, who stars as a therapist who begins developing dangerous and intimate relationships with the people in her patients' lives. Jagannathan plays a straight-shooting therapist at Jean's practice, who is described as laid back and with an irreverent sense of humour.
Universal Television and Working Title are producing the 10-episode season. Lisa Rubin created the series, and will write. Sam Taylor-Johnson (Fifty Shades of Grey) will direct the first two episodes.
