The Revenant definitely gets my vote at the Oscars
Someone just give DiCaprio his Oscar already as the old saying goes when he doesn't win, however with The Revenant he really really deserves that Oscar.
Probably the best film to come of this year (minus Star Wars) this is probably a contender for Best Picture at the Oscars this year, so what is this film about well DiCaprio plays famous hunter/fur trapper Hugh Glass who gets attacked by a mother bear protecting her cubs, this scene is probably the most brutal to watch it lasts for roughly four minutes, oh trust me when you think mama bear has had enough she comes back with a vengeance and attacks him again wounding him very badly.
The rest of the film is a revenge mission, Glass goes and hunts down a man called John Fitzgerald (played by Tom Hardy) who left him for dead and murdered his son, he travels all across the snowy wilderness looking for Fitzgerald. The film is directed by Birdman director Alejandro Innaritu and is filmed by Emmanuel Lubezki (he done the cinematography for Birdman and Gravity) the movie keeps some of the same camera work from Birdman.
The movie however is very tense from start to finish DiCaprio's character is fantastic, he definitely plays the part well, and maybe just maybe he could win an Oscar this year who knows? maybe this is his year, only time can tell, now what do I rate this movie, well considering the acting and the way the film is shot it gets a 10/10 from me, its a fantastic film and the acting in it makes the film even better.
