The Walking Dead Gets an Extended Season Finale
As has become the practice for milestone episodes - premieres and finales, mostly - AMC's April 3 finale for The Walking Dead's sixth year will run for 90 minutes.
It has been noted that the hugely anticipated new villain Negan will make his debut in the finale. The character will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and the events surrounding his arrival are particularly frightening and are set to have a huge impact on the characters and story.
"Everyone is so focused on the finale but the final two [episodes] are full-throttle for sure," co-star Josh McDermott told THR. "When I read these next two episodes — I typically go through a script in about an hour but I read them both in about 20 minutes because I couldn't turn the page fast enough. It just left a feeling in my stomach after reading these. We're in new territory with the show now and we're telling things in a different way that the show hasn't done before. It stays with you."
