'The Walking Dead' Star Cast in the Lead Role for 'Star Trek: Discovery'
The Walking Dead star Sonequa Martin-Green has made the jump across to CBS All Access to take the lead role in Star Trek: Discovery. She will continue her role as series regular on the zombie drama series, and will play the lieutenant commander. in the new series.
Given production has wrapped on season 7 of The Walking Dead, Martin-Green won't be required back (should she survive the back half of the season) until summer 2017 for season 8 filming.
The new Star Trek series follows the S.S. Discovery in a 13-episode first season set to premiere in May.
