Brand new logo for Thor: Ragnarok

'Thor: Ragnarok' Might be Marvel's "Most Out There" Film to Date, According to the Director

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell Thor: Ragnarok is set to arrive in 2017 with something of a makeover for the superhero. His first two films have met lukewarm responses, and director Taika Maititi is looking to "70s/80s sci-fi fantasy" as inspiration for the new film .

Waititi teased on a Reddit AMA that it may just be the "most 'out there' of all the Marvel movies," and did admit that he tried to ignore previous Thor films. Additionally, he swore ignorance to anything regarding Marvel's plans for the near future, and he promised that Mark Ruffalo would steal the show as Bruce Banner.

“The new logo suits the ’70s / ’80s sci-fi fantasy that this film is becoming,” he said. “I made an effort to ignore the fact there are other Thor films.

“The tone is very different. Think CRAZY,” he teased. “I think [Thor: Ragnarok] will be one of the most adventurous and most “out there” of all the Marvel movies. It’s a crazy movie.”
