Three Names Remain in the Search for the Next Han Solo
The hunt for a worthy successor (kind of precursor) to Harrison Ford as the iconic Han Solo for the upcoming spin-off film has been narrowed down to three names.
Taron Egerton, who broke out with Kingsman: The Secret Service and starred in Eddie the Eagle is one particular name that's begun circling the entertainment world over the past two years, while Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caeser!) and Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction) round out the list of finalists.
The list was recently ten names long, but was narrowed through either a screen or costume test, eliminating Miles Teller (Whiplash, Fantastic Four) and Ansel Elgort (The Divergent Series). According to THR, 2,500 actors met with Disney for the part.
The Han Solo film will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and arrives May 2018.
