Tim Burton Responds to 'Beetlejuice 2' Possibilities
While doing press for Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children in Italy, Tim Burton has addressed whether there will be a Beetlejuice sequel anytime soon. The famous 80s film has had fans clamoring for more for decades, and original cast members have quoted interest before in returning to that world.
"Rule number one, do not talk about future [movies] until they are realized. In the past I have talked about two projects that were then canceled. I love the character... If it has to happen it will happen... Better not to plan too far in advance. We'll see. Do not forget the best movie I've ever done, Superman," Burton said.
He's referring to Superman Lives, the early-2000s Superman reboot that almost happened with Nicolas Cage in a starring role. For now, Beetlejuice seems like a far-off possibility, but Burton would never say never, it seems.
