TNT Renews 'The Last Ship' for a Fifth Season
TNT had already renewed The Last Ship for a fourth season as it approaches its season 3 finale this week. Now, the network has thrown its faith behind the series, with a fifth and final season ordered.
It'll be a bittersweet announcement for fans. Knowing, however, that the series has two seasons to bring itself to an organic conclusion is a best case scenario for many shows in this climate.
“‘The Last Ship’ has taken viewers on an exciting ride through three truly thrilling seasons,” says Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT. “We look forward to watching the cast and production team ratchet up the drama, action and suspense even more over the next two seasons through summer 2018.”
The series averages 7.1 million viewers per episode and is one of the top basic cable outputs. It stars Eric Dane, Adam Baldin, and Bridget Regan.
