Tom Hardy's Series 'Taboo' Will Premiere in January.
FX and BBC One have announced the premiere dates of the drama series 'Taboo' . The 8-part series, which stars Tom Hardy, will air on January 7th in the UK and on January 10th in the US.
Aside from starring in the series, Hardy is also one of its creator alongside his father, Chip Hardy, and Steven Knight. Taboo is a reunion between Tom Hardy and Knight, the two had previously collaborated in Locke and Peaky Blinders.
The following is the official synopsis:
"Taboo is set in 1814 and follows James Keziah Delaney (Hardy) a man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed. Believed to be long dead, he returns home to London from Africa to inherit what is left of his father's shipping empire and rebuild a life for himself. But his father's legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder and betrayal, a dark family mystery unfolds in a combustible tale of love and treachery".
Other cast members in this series includes Jonathan Pryce, Oona Chaplin, Stephen Graham, Michael Kelly, Jessie Buckley, David Hayman and Tom Hollander. Kristoffer Nyholm (The Killing) will direct episodes 1 - 4 and Anders Engström will helm episodes 5 - 8.
