Two Weeks Out from Season 3, and 'Black Mirror' Season 4 is Already in Development
The praise for Black Mirror, Netflix's sci-fi anthology series, is hard to ignore. It approaches the horrors of the digital age through ambitious lenses, and the third season is set to land on Netflix in just two weeks, on October 21.
But with a new trailer today also comes a big reveal for fans. A fourth season is already in the works for the beloved series. Executive producer Annabel Jones revealed that they're looking ahead while at the London Film Festival.
"When you’re ready to do the next series you do [it]. Thankfully Netflix loved the show, stepped in and commissioned six films. So that allows us to play out on a bigger canvas, and take more risks, explore worlds without destabilising the Black Mirror sensibility. It’s great. And we’ve got another season coming up too."
The series was a big hit in British households before Netflix brought it to an international stage. It now has the chance, with a stellar season 3 and 4, to become one of the prized, top-tier offerings on the streaming giant's slate of original programming.
