Under the Radar Television Premieres
Teachers (series premiere Wednesday Jan. 13th at 11/10C on TV Land): Executive produced by Alison Brie (Community, Sleeping with Other People), Teachers stars comedy troupe The Katydids (Katy Colloton, Cate Freedman, Kate Lambert, Katie O'Brien and Kathryn Renee Thomas) as "six elementary school teachers [who] try to mold young minds, even though their own lives aren’t really together" (http://www.tvland.com/shows/teachers).
Angie Tribeca (series premiere Sunday Jan. 17th at 9/8C): The complete first season of Angie Tribeca will be available on TBS in a 25 hour binge watch marathon format (season one will be shown a total of five times). Co-created and executive produced by Steve and Nancy Carrell, Angie Tribeca stars Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation) as a police detective on the Los Angeles Police Department's Really Heinous Crimes Unit. The comedy series will air ten additional episodes beginning Jan. 25th at 9:30/8:30C in the more traditional one per week format.
Beowulf (series premiere Saturday Jan. 23rd at 10/9C on Esquire): "Based on the complex protagonist of a classic poem written between the eighth and tenth century, Beowulf takes place in a mythological place, The Shieldlands, and challenges the notions of good and evil, heroes and villains, and the rule of law against one’s moral code. The Magicians (series premiere Monday Jan. 25th at 10/9C on Syfy): "Based upon Lev Grossman's best-selling books, The Magicians centers around Brakebills University, a secret institution specializing in magic. Outsiders (series premiere Tuesday Jan. 26th at 9/8C on WGN America): "A struggle for power and control set in the rugged and mysterious hills of modern day Appalachia, Outsiders tells the story of the Farrells - a family clan who've been in rural Kentucky since before anyone can remember. You, Me and the Apocalypse (series premiere Thursday Jan. 28th at 8/7C on NBC): "You, Me and the Apocalypse is a bold adrenaline-fueled hour-long comedic drama about the last days of mankind.
