Universal brings Writer on Board for a 'Battlestar Galactica' Film
Based on the 1978 television series, for years Universal Pictures has been trying to get a big screen adaptation off the ground. Now, Lisa Joy (Westworld) has joined on to write the script.
EW is reporting that, in addition, Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence may be interested in taking the reins.
Previously, Bryan Singer has eyed the film with Jack Paglen having written a draft previously. While Lawrence isn't a sure thing, given that he's working on a big screen version of Homer's The Odyssey at Lionsgate, having a writer on board is a big step forward.
