USA Network Orders Pilot 'Damnation' from James Mangold
USA Network has ordered Damnation, a period drama, coming from writer/critic Tony Tost, Game of Thrones co-executive producer Guymon Casay, and producers James Mangold and Daniel Rappaport.
Damnation is described as an epic saga of the secret history of the 1930s American heartland, chronicling the mythic conflict and bloody struggle between big money and the downtrodden, God and greed, charlatans and prophets.
The pilot focuses on Seth Davenport, a man masquerading as a small town lowa preacher in an attempt to start a full-blown insurrection against the status quo. “Tony’s script captures a period of American History with many of the same conflicts that we are still facing today,” said McGoldrick. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Universal Cable Productions, James Mangold and Entertainment 360 on this powerful and ambitious historical drama.”
