Vanessa Hudgens Joins NBC DC Comics Comedy Series 'Powerless'
Vanessa Hudgens has signed on to star in NBC's upcoming DC Comics adaptation Powerless, a single-camera workplace comedy set at one of the worst insurance companies in the country.
The twist comes from its existence in the universe of DC Comics. The comedy is about the reality of working life for a normal, powerless person in a world of super heroes and villains.
Hudgens will play Emily Locke, an insurance claims adjuster who love to help people.
As a quiet achiever, the character finds herself frustrated by the disruptive antics of the super heroes that inhabit her home city.
The series is being written by Ben Queen and executive produced by Queen and Michael patrick Jann. For Hudgens, the show (should it go to series) will mark her first regular TV role, and marks her first working role since Fox's Grease Live.
